Yacht Charter Pontine Islands

Find out more about this area

The Pontine Islands, Ponza, Palmarola, Zannone, and Ventotene, the four pearls of the central Mediterranean, which ideally connect the eternal city by sea to Naples, Naples, and the Flegrean islands, Ischia and Capri, Amalfi, the Sorrento peninsula.

The Pontine Islands are among the most distant, among the smaller Italian islands, from the mainland, which is why in these islands you will find the clearest and most crystalline waters in Italy, and a luxuriant fauna.

Starting from the nearest Marina to Rome and closer to the Pontine Islands, you will be able to optimize the movements, thanks also to the two international airports of the Capital, and to its geographical centrality.

Once you reach the first island, Palmarola, you will be able to enjoy from the first landing of a purely naturalistic and deserted island: Cala del porto (in spite of the name there is no port) also called Cala del Francese, from the name of the historic restaurant still present and in activity in the Cala, during the summer period. On the west side you will find two other interesting bays with good depths, while on the East side you can anchor and make two splendid baths in the Cala dei Gabbiani and in Cala brigantina. The visit to the Faraglioni in the South, and the bay that faces North, called the "Cathedral" (thanks to the rugged rocks and loopholes that make it resemble a Gothic cathedral), complete the visit of the first Pontine island.

At 5 miles from the largest island, Ponza, the most populated center of the archipelago, is the largest in extension. With its typical arched shape, it offers several shelters from all the quadrants, on the two east / west sides, and several beaches of rare beauty; It is recommended to pay attention and respect the prohibitions in some beaches, where for safety and landslides reasons it is forbidden to land. The Rada del Frontone, the closest to the port, cala del Core (from the name of the heart printed by nature on the rock above the roadstead, the natural arch set, and on the west side the Spectacular Chiaia di luna, Cala di Lucia Rosa, and Cala Feola, also called "natural pools", for the salt water pools that the natural rocks have created in the back of the beach.

Arriving in one of the various Marinas of the Port of Ponza, you can also experience the island on land, visiting the recently opened Roman cisterns, the typical restaurants, the walk on the course, the local shops, and some clubs to complete the evening with piano bar, cocktails, and a sweet night life, during the high season months.

The lighthouse of Punta Guardia, on the island of Ponza, visible and powerful at about 20 miles, offers you a safe approach when approaching, and a night reference point for your navigation.

The island of Zannone, separated from Ponza by a stretch of sea with some shoals and rocks, is a completely uninhabited island, in which there are two lesser lighthouses, of almost architectural and historical value. The only landing place on the island, to the south, can only be approached with calm seas.

Sailing towards Ischia, 15 miles southeast of Ponza you will find the small and lively island of Ventotene: In the ancient Porto Romano, typical of the island and unique in the world, you will notice its features, original about 2000 years ago, built to work of the Romans, including large stone bollards. The small square in front of the port, and the other two squares above, the colorful houses and the enormous hospitality of the local population, will make you enjoy this landing even in its earthy features, and will leave you with the certain feeling of wanting to come back. The island is completed by a new port, with other private piers, and some in its circumnavigation. The neighboring island of Santo Stefano, where the voices of political prisoners echo, of which the last have laid the foundations for the construction of Europe in that prison, is a natural park and cannot be approached by pleasure boats. A spectacle of nature and history, however, admire it from afar during your navigation.
