The Catamaran is mainly sailing, and recently there are also the so-called "Power Catamarans", which are only motorized, fast and more suitable for the less accustomed navigator to sailing maneuvers.
Main features of the Catamaran
The two main characteristics of the Catamaran are its greater stability at sea compared to a monohull, due to the presence of two hulls in a wider beam, and the great comfort on board, thanks to the large spaces of the salons and cabins, as well as of outdoor spaces.
Most of the Catamarans have a central body that is used for the internal and external saloon, while in the hulls there are cabins and services.
How much does it cost charter a Catamaran in Tuscany
The cost of chartering a Catamaran in Tuscany depends on the month of the rental request, the built year, its length and other factors: in the months of April and May it can cost around 4000 euros per week plus accessories, in the months in June around 6000 euros per week, and in August around 8000 euros per week and up.
For the Luxury category (Catamarans from 46 feet up, recently built) the prices can be even much higher. Often from 50 feet upwards, Catamarans are mainly crewed.
Catamarans with skipper in Tuscany
Generally, the presence at the bow of one or two cabins, often with independent entrances, for the accommodation of skippers and hostess, make it very flexible even for crewed charter.
In addition, all Catamarans have cabins that are all double and often identical or similar, sometimes with en-suite bathrooms, which makes them very comfortable for cruising groups of couples and families.
We always suggest to check with our free consultation the presence or absence of these cabins, and possibly if required, of the skipper included.

Catamaran itineraries from Tuscany
Starting from the main bases, Tuscany offers navigation throughout the island of Elba, already complete in a weekly itinerary. Near Elba you can also land and take a swim in the fabulous island of Caprera, where there is a wonderful marina. From the west side of Elba in a few hours you can reach northern Corsica and sailing there. In the case of a 2 week cruise, of course, you can visit both. Some Sailor also sail for an even longer period, considering that once they reach Corsica the itinerary can be even more interesting.
From the southern bases, the islands of Giglio and Giannutri can be visited, although we must say that the development of the Charter has taken much more hold in the ports near Elba.
Where to charter a Catamaran in Tuscany
The bases for chartering a Catamaran in Tuscany are numerous, as several very functional and receptive ports have been created in Tuscany for several years, also suitable for Charter and since always in past years, Tuscany has been a favorite destination for foreign yachtsmen who they saw Tuscany easily reachable by crossing the Alps.
The main bases are Castiglioncello (Cala de Medici), Punta Ala and Marina di Scarlino which look to an itinerary towards the Island of Elba and towards Corsica. Cala de Medici is instead the ideal starting point to reach Capraia, being closer, and also Corsica.
There are also other smaller bases for the number of boats for rent such as Livorno, Follonica and further south, Cala Galera, Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano and Talamone, bases closer to the island of Giglio and Giannutri.
